Was told by a friend to visit the Golzar Restaurant which I was not sure about as it was was a Pub, BUT and that is a very big but this restaurant did not only fantastic food but the service was second to none. After speaking to the owners I am looking forward to returning when the gardens are open and the hubba bubbas are on! Also the price is very good and the food was fresh.

We held my fathers wake here and it was just perfect. If you need a function room then this is the place; proffessional staff and lovely surroundings. They have got this spot on.

Went to the Restaurant on Saturday for the first time it was fantasic and will be back again soon. The food was to die for but thought I was feeding the whole of Basildon; huge portion. Staff are lovely too so it has 11/10 from the 3 of us and as Arnie says I'll be back.

We Visited the Golzar Rest last week (Saturday Evening) and i can not speak more highly of this place.

There were 15 of us that went (had to book in advance) and we had a reserved area. We were served by two people, first being a Asian guy and the second being a very tall young lady.

1. Food

The Food was amazing, we had 2 Mezes for 4 people (which was plenty for all). We went onto to have Golzer grill twice (again for 4 people each) and some Persian Stews. Myself being persian was very impressed about how excellent the food was ( i didnt think it would be cooked as it would be in Iran but in fact it was on the same level - if not higher) My English friends (2 being Veggie) loved the food also!!

2. Decor

The Decor and ambiance well suited the type of restaurant it was. I have read the reviews in regards to the music being english but when we visited the restaurant on a busy Saturday night it was persian music. Its a shame about the area - it suits upper class London then Pitsea.

3. Staff

The 2 staff that waited on us that evening were fab!

The chap knew exactly what was what on the menu and couldnt help us any more (even though he seemed very busy - but that is because i found out later he was manager) The young lady was just as good, always smiling and making sure everything was ok We never went without anything.

To end my review - I want to praise this restaurant and its staff. The food, Decor and Service was nothing short of 10/10. Shame about the other customers reviews - but i am presuming this maybe becuase we went on a busy Saturday night and the atsmophere mightve been different.

I am planning to go back this weekend.

Food was cheap for the huge portions we received, I Recommend to anyone reading this!

Saturday evening (3rd Sep) was our first visit in a party of four, even with a very helpful waitress we were overwhelmed with the array of choice. Once decided the dishes could not be faulted in any way, a very pleasant evening will recomend to our friends,and already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Golzar staff.

I visited the restaurant last night for the first time. I have to say I had the best meal I have ever had for a long time! The service was brilliant and we were never rushed. The food was perfection! It's a classy restaurant but not over priced. A high recommendation from me!
